Travel Tips

June through August offers the best birding conditions with thinner vegetation and concentrated wildlife.

Summer (November through February) adds migrants, pushing the total past 500 species.

Start at gate opening (usually 5:30am). The first two hours are the most productive.

Bring a good field guide. Sinclair's "Birds of Southern Africa" is the standard.
