Travel Tips

January and February are driest on the east coast where most birding sites are located.

Physical fitness matters. Many trails are steep, muddy, and in high humidity.

Book Danum Valley months ahead. Only 80 guests per night are allowed.

Leeches are constant companions. Leech socks and salt are your friends.

Rare
Bornean Bristlehead

Heard the bizarre squealing calls first. Then a flock of 6 moved through the canopy right at walkway height. Life bird and absolute highlight of the trip.
